My passion for movement really started in 2016 after I had my first child. Movement truly saved my life and I wanted to share that with others. In 2017 I got my NASM Personal Training Certification and in 2018 graduated from my first 200HR YTT program.
The next five years were spent seeking knowledge, experience and completing various styles of yoga and group fitness certifications. In 2022 I opened a yoga studio to continue my mission of helping others find the freedom through movement that I had.
That same year I ended up having two emergency back surgeries including a spinal fusion that stemmed from an injury at 16. The freedom that I felt from movement was taken away in an instant. Instead of feeling free and powerful in my body, it felt like a prison. My movement, my career, and what felt like my identity was shattered.
The following year after my fusion was dedicated to rebuilding my body and my strength through physical therapy, family support and prayer. Through this season I learned more about the body than I had through dozens of certifications, it took me literally all the way back to the basics of learning walking - and then to being able to teach yoga, lift weights, eventually do backbends and even handstands again!
The hardest year of my life ended up being the most valuable lesson in terms of body education, safety and how it all works together.
After rebuilding my strength, in Fall of 2023 I found out I was expecting my second child, we were thrilled!
Through surgery, pregnancy and postpartum I created Soul Sculpt from the very methods I used to rebuild my body, mind and spirit from all three. After working out mainly from home, I developed these classes when I was searching for something fun, motivating and effective that I could just wake up and press play.
My philosophy on movement hasn't changed, my goal is to still help others find freedom in movement, freedom in their bodies and in turn freedom in their lives.
Soul Sculpt is exactly that, built from the soul, for the soul.
My Story
In 2017 I got my NASM Personal Training CPT and fell in love with helping others achieve their fitness goals. In 2018 I graduated from my first 200hr YTT program, and I knew yoga and fitness were where my heart and soul had led me.
Fast forward to 2022 after countless trainings, certification and opening my own yoga studio, I had an emergency Spinal Fusion stemming from an injury that happened when in was 16 after years of competitive gymnastics and cheer.
In that moment, movement as I knew it completely changed. Movement saved my life in 2017 and after my spinal fusion, I COULDN'T move for a long time. It took close to a year to be able to rehab my body with extensive physical therapy, a lot of family support and a lot of prayer.
